Tryness Bwali is six years old. She is one of four children in her family, and she has a twin sister named Trace.
Her parents separated long ago. She does not know where her father went. Her mother raised the children alone โ until last year, when she passed away. Tryness was five when she lost her mother.
What happened next
After her mother’s death, Tryness and her twin moved in with their grandmother. One day, while the grandmother was at the hospital visiting a sick brother, the step-grandfather tried to rape Tryness’s older sister.
When the elders returned home, the older sister told them everything. The grandfather was arrested and is in prison to this day.
But the grandmother โ instead of protecting the children โ called her granddaughter a liar and chased the girls out of her home.
Where Tryness is now
Tryness and her sister found shelter with distant relatives who are kind but desperately poor. They have no stable food, no school supplies, no safety net.
Tryness is quiet. Watchful. The kind of child who already knows too much about the world. But she is still six, and she is still full of hope when someone smiles at her.
How you can help
We’re working to bring Tryness into our centre’s daily programs โ food, school, counselling, and consistent care. She needs sponsors who will walk this journey with her.
๐ Sponsor Tryness and help her be six years old again.
