Today we visited Steward, a 13-year-old boy who is living with a disability. What we found was a child quietly carrying more than any child should.

Steward’s reality

• He cannot take care of his own toileting needs
• He is discriminated against by his own stepfather at home
• He does not go to school like other children his age

A teenage boy — with all the dreams and frustrations of being 13 — stuck at home, marginalised, and in need of basic items just to maintain dignity.

What Steward needs right now

• Adult-sized diapers (urgent — he is running low)
• Clothes that fit and are appropriate for a 13-year-old
• Assorted care items for daily hygiene
