Yesterday we visited a home in our community. What we found inside will stay with us.

James is two years and ten months old. When we arrived, he had gone eight days without food. Eight days. For a toddler.

His family cannot support him financially. His mother has a brain condition and is unable to consistently care for her children. James is the third of three — and with a household that can barely function, he has been slipping through the cracks.

His body is already showing signs of malnutrition. Without immediate help, his life is at risk.

When we walked into that home, the sound we heard was children crying — not from pain, but from hunger.

We cannot let James starve
