In 2017, we took our children on a field trip to the Museum of Malawi. For most of them, it was their first time stepping into a museum.
The goal was simple: to help them connect with the culture, history and heritage of Malawi โ to see how their ancestors lived before technology reshaped daily life, and to feel proud of where they come from.
The day was full of curious questions, wide eyes, and a lot of laughter. They learned about traditional Malawian crafts, music, and stories. They left with a deeper appreciation for Malawi โ or, as older generations still call it, Nyasaland.
Days like this are why we do what we do. Education isn’t just about numbers and letters โ it’s about rooting children in their identity and opening their minds to the world.
