Two weeks ago, a neighbour knocked on our door with extraordinary news. She has a plot of land for sale — and she wants us to have it.

Why this plot is perfect

The plot is just 100 metres from our current rented centre. It already has:

• Three houses — each one could hold 70 children (that’s 210 children total)
• A nice children’s play area
• Clean running water
• Electricity
• Two toilets
• Fruit trees around the compound

It’s bigger than our current space, it’s safer, it’s better equipped — and if God allows, we could even build a primary school on it, because the plot is large enough.

The price

We need to raise EUR 9,473 (approximately MWK 12,437,000) to buy the plot outright. Owning this means we stop paying rent — and every kwacha we would have spent on rent can instead go straight to feeding and teaching the children.
