A quick background: my name is Dorica, and I’m the founder of Mercy Children Centre.
I’ve been working with children for 17 years. In 2011, I opened Mercy Children Centre — and from 2011 until today, I’ve operated without a single formal donor. Just well-wishers — one at a time, one gift at a time.
Where we are in 2021
- Started with 4 children in 2011
- Today: 262 children across two centres
- One centre we own. The other we still rent.
- Many of our kids are street children — most have missed school entirely because of it

What’s next: the Children’s Home
In 2018, I bought land for a proper Children’s Home — a place where kids without families can actually live, not just attend class. I’ve already done the landscape work. Now I need to build.
