👋 Goodbye 2020. Welcome 2021.
Despite everything — a pandemic, school closures, empty stores, and months of uncertainty — 2020 was the best year Mercy Children has ever had.
What we accomplished
- 🏗️ Built a brand new Children’s Centre building — now 99.5% complete. The children will start using it on Monday, 4th January.
- 🐐 Our widows’ goat program grew to 80 families benefiting
- 🥣 Supporters kept our feeding program running despite school closures
- 🧼 We received school materials and Covid-prevention supplies thanks to generous partners
To every sponsor who stood with us through the hardest year any of us have known — thank you. You have no idea what you’ve done.
What’s coming in 2021
- Reach more vulnerable children
- Expand our widows’ animal program
- Begin construction on our Children’s Home — land already bought three years ago, landscape already done. This Home will house 40+ children in need of permanent care.
It’s going to take a lot. But 2020 proved to us what’s possible when people show up for each other.
